Navaratri days are\u00a0 meant for worshipping\u00a0feminine form of supreme power<\/strong>\u00a0to achieve spiritual upliftment <\/strong>OR\u00a0\u00a0fulfillment of\u00a0 material wishes<\/strong> in life.<\/p>\n

The word Nav<\/strong>\u00a0indicates the number nine. This number is <\/strong>a perfect or \u00a0 purna number, after which there is no number. \u00a0There are nine forms of Shakti or Goddesses<\/strong> that rule the universe, known as Nav Durga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second part of the word Navaratri is ratri or night<\/strong>, that \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 time \u00a0of the daily cycle when humans \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 go to sleep, to get rest from the fatigue resulting from the physical or mental efforts put in during the day and to \u00a0 charge up the body and mind for the next day\u2019s activities. Thus, Navaratri is a\u00a0great time for performing puja, sadhana or aaradhana \u00a0 of Maa Durga to\u00a0purify our mind and rejuvenate our soul, which get tired with the worldly affairs.<\/p>\n

The word Durga<\/strong>\u00a0 symbolises\u00a0 Durg<\/strong> in the Sanskrit language. Durg\u00a0means\u00a0– \u00a0fort. A fort is built\u00a0in such a way that it is not easily accessible for outer opposite forces and \u00a0protects\u00a0who are\u00a0\u00a0inside . Similarly, worshipping Durga creates a fort-like environment for the worshipper by strengthening\u00a0devotee’s\u00a0 body, mind\u00a0and soul.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each Goddess represents specific Chakra and Planet . The days\u00a0on which \u00a0Goddess specific\u00a0form is worshipped and respective chakra and Planet\u00a0are mentioned below\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0–<\/p>\n

First Day<\/strong> – Goddess Shailaputree<\/a> – Muladhara<\/strong> Chakra – Moon
\nSecond Day – Goddess Brahamcharini<\/em> <\/span>– Swadhisthana Chakra – Mars
\nThird Day<\/strong> – Goddess Chandraghanta – Manipura<\/strong> Chakra – Venus
\nFourth Day – Goddess Kushmanda<\/em><\/span> – Anahata Chakra – Sun
\nFifth Day<\/strong> – Goddess Skandmata – Visuddha<\/strong> Chakra – Mercury
\nSixth Day – Goddess Katyaini<\/em><\/span>– Ajna Chakra – Jupiter
\nSeventh Day<\/strong> – Goddess Kaalratri – Sahastrsar Chakra<\/strong> – \u00a0Saturn
\nEighth Day – Mahagauri<\/em> <\/span>– Sahastrsar Chakra – Rahu
\nNinth Day<\/strong> – Siddhidatri – Sahasrara Chakra<\/strong> – Ketu<\/p>\n

Importance Of Navratri<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

In the same way human body<\/strong>\u00a0 also gets prepared to receive the energy on the same time. Navratri\u2019s Nine days sequence is the representation of a seeker’s stages on path of Self Realization<\/strong>. Navratri\u2019s first three days balance the tamo gun,<\/strong> next three days balances the rajo gun<\/strong>, and the last three days increases the sato gun<\/strong>. Tamo guna is balanced by Mata Duga \/ Kaali<\/strong>, Rajo gun\u2019s devi is Mata Laxmi<\/strong> and Sato guna is represented by mata Saraswati.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So the sequence in Sadhna is \u2013\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

First<\/strong> you resolve your tamo guna by removing your hidden negative tendencies and desires. This need lot of discipline, hard work, patience and faith, as cleaning of self is not an easy task . After PURIFICATION\u00a0<\/strong> balancing of the the rajo guna starts by Goddess Mahalaxmi in form of development of positive qualities like dedication, surrender, power to work hard etc etc.\u00a0 Than after lot of practice a time comes when we are ready to\u00a0 receive KNOWLEDGE OF SELF<\/strong> by establishing self in sato guna, depicted in the form of Goddess Saraswati.
